Walking Permits are free to anyone who applies. On receiving the permit a letter explains that the University runs a voluntary donation scheme to raise money for the upkeep of the woods.
This fund is utilised to fund projects that improve Wytham Woods. Thus for instance benches have been bought, ponds restored, meadows fenced and then grazed to maintain their rich floras, and rides managed to allow easier access. We are also upgrading our entrance gates to allow easier access for mobility scooters and pushchairs.
Gift Aid Forms are available to increase the net worth of any donation.
Pastels and photographs are also sold to raise funds: www.lakesideprints.co.uk
Royalties from Wytham Woods Oxford's Ecological Laboratory published by OUP also assist with the Appeal Fund.
